UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan has sent a congratulatory message to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud of Saudi Arabia, on the occasion of the success of the Hajj season of 1444 AH.
His Highness noted the care and wise government of institutions to ensure that pilgrims could perform the rituals safely.
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, and His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Presidential Court, also dispatched similar messages to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques.
Messages of praise and support were also sent by His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, H.H. Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah, H.H. Sheikh Saud bin Rashid Al Mu'alla, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Umm Al Qaiwain, and H.H. Sheikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Fujairah.
According to the Saudi Press Agency, the Minister of Health, Fahd Al-Jalajel, announced the success of the health plans put in place for this year's Hajj season, and no outbreaks or threats to public health were recorded.
More than 354 healthcare facilities from all health sectors were prepared to serve pilgrims by the health system, with help from more than 36,000 health professionals, supported by more than 7,600 volunteers.
The number of pilgrims receiving healthcare services exceeded 400,000, while 8,000 were treated for heat stress.
Earlier in the month, on June 27th, The Minister of Hajj and Umrah, Dr. Tawfiq Al-Rabiah announced the number of pilgrims performing this year's Hajj season had reached 1,845,045 from 150 countries.
In this Hajj season, domestic pilgrims were allowed to register for Hajj online and make payments in instalments for the first time. Additionally, pilgrims from 67 countries in Europe, the Americas, and Australia were allowed to register and book electronically. The minister emphasized plans to further expand the application of this technology in the future.
