A dialysis unit at the UAE Floating Hospital in Egypt's Al Arish has been opened to treat an increasing number of Palestinian patients with kidney diseases.
The initiative aims to provide services near residential complexes in Al Arish to ease travel constraints and ensure secure, uninterrupted treatment for those displaced by the Gaza conflict.
The facility, launched by Hamad Obaid Al Zaabi, UAE Ambassador to Egypt, will feature two dialysis machines that allows six sessions per day, with each requiring approximately four hours.
The UAE Floating Hospital is overseen by an Emirati medical team and has a capacity of 100 beds, along with an additional 100 beds for patient companions.
It's is part of the UAE’s broader medical support framework under "Operation Chivalrous Knight 3," which includes deploying air and sea bridges to deliver medical supplies, and providing medicines and equipment in coordination with official authorities and humanitarian partners.
