The UAE's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, participated in the six-party Arab Ministerial meeting alongside US Secretary of State Antony Blinken, in Riyadh.
Representatives of Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Jordan, Egypt and Palestine also attended the meeting, which was held on the sidelines of a special session of the World Economic Forum.
Their discussions focused on the evolving situation in the Middle East region, particularly in the Gaza Strip, its humanitarian and security implications and efforts to secure a lasting ceasefire.
Sheikh Abdullah underscored the pressing challenges confronting the Middle East, emphasising the need for heightened regional and international collaboration in strengthening the comprehensive peace process based on the two-state solution.
He stressed the importance of achieving a sustainable ceasefire, curbing escalating violence, safeguarding civilian lives and facilitating the unimpeded delivery of humanitarian aid to civilians in Gaza through secure corridors.
