UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan has issued a federal decree appointing Hamad Ali Mohammed Al Kaabi as Director-General of the Federal Authority for Nuclear Regulation, with the rank of Undersecretary.
Al Kaabi is a veteran diplomat and nuclear policy specialist who has represented the UAE at the International Atomic Energy Agency since 2008.
He has also served as the UAE's ambassador to Austria, Slovakia and Slovenia, and represented the country at a number of international organisations.
The Federal Authority for Nuclear Regulation oversees the UAE's nuclear sector, including safety, security and regulatory compliance.
