UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney reviewed bilateral ties and areas for future collaboration during their meeting in Abu Dhabi.
The two leaders reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening a partnership that spans more than 50 years, with a focus on investment, trade, technology, AI, clean energy, climate action education and culture.
They also discussed regional and international developments, stressing the importance of promoting peace and stability.
Sheikh Mohamed said UAE–Canada relations are a model of constructive cooperation aimed at advancing development and prosperity.
Carney praised the progress made and emphasised Canada’s commitment to expanding joint initiatives.
The meeting concluded with the signing of an agreement on protecting and promoting investment, aimed at boosting economic cooperation.
It was signed by Carney and Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, UAE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs.
A separate memorandum of understanding on investment cooperation was also announced.
