UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan has offered his sincere condolences to Jordanian King Abdullah II bin Al Hussein in a phone call on Saturday over the victims of an attack targeting a church in Karak governorate.
His Highness also extended his sympathy to the people of Jordan and the victims' families, and wished a speedy recovery to those injured in the attack.
He also affirmed the UAE’s solidarity with Jordan against anything that seeks to undermine its security and the safety of its citizens.
King Abdullah expressed his appreciation to His Highness for his sincere sentiments conveyed towards Jordan and its people.
Nine people were killed and around 40 injured when gunmen opened fire on Friday during a funeral at a church in Jordan's Karak governorate.
Authorities said they were still searching for the attackers as they tightened security across Jordan, with no immediate claim of responsibility.
