The UAE has ramped up its efforts to ensure child protection mechanisms adhere to international standards by improving awareness and training within institutions.
The Ministry of Interior on Tuesday signed an agreement with the National Academy for Childhood Development that entails awareness programmes, the exchange of knowledge and expertise, practical training, and the organisation of specialised courses.
Major General Khalifa Hareb Al Khaili said caring for children is a fundamental pillar of the ministry, which "constantly works to build a safe and supportive environment that enables children to grow and develop in a healthy and sound environment that contributes to strengthening family stability and social development".
Dr. Mira Saeed Al Kaabi, Head of the National Academy for Childhood Development Team said the partnership "represents a qualitative addition that enhances our efforts in this field, through the exchange of expertise and the building of specialised national capacity".
"We at the Academy are committed to providing educational and training programs that contribute to childhood development. Signing this memorandum with the Ministry of Interior opens new horizons for fruitful cooperation, particularly in the areas of community awareness, training, and developing the skills necessary to address childhood issues professionally and effectively," she added.
