The UAE will mark Emirati Women's Day with a month-long celebration starting from August 28 under the theme "We Emerge Stronger and Better".

The celebrations aim to highlight the role of Emirati women in building and shaping the UAE, alongside showcasing their longstanding journey of empowerment and achievements.

The occasion will serve as a platform for action, launching initiatives, recognising achievements and highlighting inspiring role models, while reaffirming that Emirati women’s success is an integral part of the nation’s journey.

Emirati women today hold senior positions across state institutions and decision-making bodies. Women occupy 50 percent of the seats in the Federal National Council and account for a significant proportion of Cabinet members, while holding around 63 percent of leadership positions in the government sector.

The UAE continues to achieve leading positions in international reports. It ranked first regionally in the World Economic Forum’s Global Gender Gap Report 2025 and second globally in the indicator for women’s representation in parliament, according to the 2026 World Competitiveness Ranking issued by the IMD World Competitiveness Centre in Lausanne, Switzerland.

Indicators demonstrate that empowerment has moved from the policy level to tangible results, with women’s participation in the labour market increasing by 101.92 percent between 2021 and 2025, while women accounted for 74 percent of all beneficiaries of the Nafis programme.

In entrepreneurship, the UAE is home to more than 25,000 Emirati businesswomen who own more than 50,000 commercial licences, with total investments exceeding AED60 billion, according to 2025 data.
