The United Arab Emirates has expressed deep concern over security conditions in the Republic of Mali.
In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation called for reason and wisdom to prevail in order to avoid chaos and disorder.
It reiterated the UAE's support for the countries in Africa's Sahel Region and its determination to establish peace and stability.
The UAE also underscored the importance of fighting terrorism and extremism.
The leaders of Tuesday's military coup in Mali have been holding talks with opposition leaders who have welcomed the ousting of President Ibrahim Boubacar Keïta.
The mutineers have promised to oversee elections within a "reasonable" time and move towards a transitional civilian government.
The Economic Community of West African States has suspended the flow of finance to Mali and imposed a blockade on the country's borders.
Leaders from the bloc are due to hold emergency talks later on Thursday.
The United Nations Security Council has condemned the coup and called for a return to civilian rule.
