The UAE is exempting fines for travellers unable to depart due to recent flight suspensions and airspace closures.
The Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Ports Security said the measure applies to visit and tourist visa holders, exit permit holders, as well as residents who cancelled their residency in preparation to leave.
Fines from February 28, 2026, onward are waived, allowing affected travellers to resolve their legal status without financial penalties.
The Authority emphasized the move reflects the UAE’s humanitarian approach, helping those impacted by circumstances beyond their control.
Special teams at airports and Customer Happiness Centres continue to assist travellers with delayed or rescheduled flights.
