The Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives (MBRGI) has launched a new education programme that will bring digital learning to more than half a million people across six African countries.
Led by The Digital School, the three-year initiative will support students, teachers and young people in Mauritania, Nigeria, Lesotho, Zambia, Namibia and Angola.
The programme includes setting up 100 digital learning spaces, training teachers in modern teaching methods, and helping young people develop skills for the job market.
The Digital School says it has signed cooperation agreements with partners in the six countries to begin implementing the projects.
Officials say the initiative aims to expand access to quality education through technology, giving underserved communities greater opportunities to learn, develop new skills and improve future employment prospects.
Accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC), The Digital School’s various programmes and services benefit over 850,000 people in 40 countries, offering courses in seven languages: Arabic, English, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Indonesian and Kurdish.
