England face a huge battle to save the first Test against New Zealand in Mount Maunganui.

The visitors ended day 4 on 55 for 3 in their second innings. They are still 207 runs behind the Black Caps' score of 615-9.

Opener Rory Burns was out for 31, while partner Dom Sibley scored just 12 and night watchman Jack Leach was dismissed for a duck.

Mitchell Santner took all the three wickets to end the day on a high after striking a maiden Test century (126) and sharing a 261-run stand with BJ Watling (205) for the seventh wicket.
