Nigeria have advanced to the knockout stage of the Africa Cup of Nations as they beat Guinea 1-0.

Hosts Egypt are also guaranteed a spot in the round of 16 after they defeated Democratic Republic of Congo 2-0.

Ahmad Al Mohammady broke the deadlock in the 25th minute, while Liverpool star Mohamed Salah struck two minutes before half-time to score his first goal of the tournament.

Elsewhere, Uganda kept their hopes alive of qualifying for the next round after drawing 1-1 with Zimbabwe.
