Punjab Premier League cricket off to rousing start

A unique Twenty20 tournament featuring some of the UAE’s top domestic sides has kicked off in Ajman. The Punjab Premier League sees six teams under the district names of Punjab in India battle against another six teams named after the Punjab province in Pakistan. Prize money worth up to AED 75,000 are up for grabs in the nearly one-month long competition. Organiser Mehar Chhayakar tells ARN about some of the tournament’s other key features.
