The ruler of Ajman has announced monthly rewards for medical students, in a bid to encourage more Emirati nationals to take up the profession.
His Highness Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ajman, highlighted the importance of investing in education as it contributes to the development of the nation.
The financial support, he added, will motivate Emirati students to enrol in a field that requires "a lot of diligence and perseverance".
The move was hailed by His Highness Sheikh Ammar bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Crown Prince of Ajman, who stressed how it would open new horizons in a specialty that lacks Emirati prominence.
