The bridges leading to the entrance of Deira Islands is 75 per cent complete.

That's the word from the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), which said it expects the construction to be completed in June 2020.

It's aimed at easing traffic flow to Dubai's new waterfront and will cover three bridges, crossing the water canal.

Two entrances will be at the intersections on Al Khaleej Street with Abu Baker Al-Siddique and Abu Hail Streets, while the third will extend from Al-Mina Street parallel to Port Rashid.

Mattar Mohammed Al Tayer, Director-General and Chairman of the Board of Executive Directors of RTA, inspected the progress of the project along with other senior members of the RTA.

The construction is done by RTA in coordination with Nakheel, and is part of future improvements of Shindagha Corridor.
