It is mandatory for employees of certain commercial establishments in Ajman to take a COVID-19 PCR test every week.
The new rule applies to those working in restaurants, cafes, supermarkets, salons and sports halls, as well as car wash companies, food delivery firms and labour recruitment offices.
Workers in these sectors must also have the Al Hosn app downloaded on their phones.
According to the emirate's Emergency, Crisis and Disaster Management team, the decision is effective from Tuesday, March 2.
Individuals who have received both doses of the COVID-19 vaccine are exempted from the rule.
Inspections will be stepped up in the coming days to ensure compliance with the latest directive.
