DHA offers residents free drive-thru testing for COVID-19

DHA

The Dubai Health Authority (DHA) has announced the opening of a drive-thru for COVID-19 testing, free of charge.

According to the authority, the facility is located at Al Nasr Club and will be open from 8:00 am to 6:30 pm daily for both nationals and expatriates.

The centre gives priority to people with COVID-19 symptoms as well as senior citizens, pregnant women, people of determination and those with chronic diseases.

The drive-thru service can provide up to 250 coronavirus tests per day, in order to support the country’s efforts in protecting the health and safety of its residents.

People can now book an appointment for the five-minute test by calling the health authority on 800DHA.

Residents will then receive a confirmation via text message, which they will need to present along with their Emirates ID as they drive through the centre.

Once the necessary verifications have been carried out, a nasal swab is collected from the person as they remain in their vehicle.

Results can be viewed within 48 hours of the test by downloading the DHA app and clicking ‘Lab Results’ and then ‘Patient Services’.

Authorities are reminding members of the public that a move permit must be obtained before going to do the medical test in order to be able to leave the house without violating any laws.
