Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has completed maintenance and rehabilitation works on 20 km of major roads across the emirate.
The works focused on slow lanes along Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road in both directions towards Abu Dhabi and Sharjah, as well as sections of Lehbab Road, Dubai-Al Ain Road, Emirates Road and Al Rebat Street.
The completion marks the end of the RTA’s annual preventive maintenance programme, aimed at maintaining road quality and safety, improving traffic flow and supporting Dubai's continued population and economic growth.
Nabeel Mohammed, Director of Roads and Facilities Maintenance at the RTA’s Traffic and Roads Agency, said that road conditions are assessed using laser scanning and artificial intelligence technologies to help identify cracks, potholes and other defects before repairs are carried out.
He also urged motorists to follow traffic diversions and road signage during maintenance works to ensure safety.
