Interpol has elected a UAE Major General as the new President of the global crime-fighting body.
Dr. Ahmed Nasser Al Raisi, who is the Inspector General of the Ministry of Interior, has won Interpol's presidency for a four-year term.
He will replace South Korea's Kim Jong Yang who clocked one more year in office due to the pandemic.
According to media reports, 470 police chiefs, ministers, and other representatives from more than 160 countries attended the three-day General Assembly at Istanbul.
