The UAE National Guard has announced on Saturday its coast guards rescued 22 crew members who were aboard an oil tanker that caught fire in the Arabian Gulf waters.
In a statement shared on social media platform X, the authority said all Asian members received the necessary first aid, and are in a stable medical condition with the relevant authorities.
The rescue operation occurred after the Coast Guard group received a report from the tanker's crew indicating a fire had broken out.
Specialised teams immediately initiated response procedures and located the tanker, rescuing its 22 crew members, the national guard reported. The statement did not identify the tanker.
