There’s good news for customers who are looking to terminate their telecom contracts early.
The UAE's Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) has confirmed that operators are only allowed to charge one month's rental fee for cancellations, while previously the amount was based on the number of months remaining on the agreement.
The amendment was introduced in all new contracts earlier this year, while for existing contracts, the rule will come into effect on January 1.
As of 1 January 2020
