NBA: Thunder overcome Rockets

Oklahoma City Thunder moved to 36-13 for the season, with a 116-108 win over the Houston Rockets. The ejection of Rocket’s centre, Dwight Howard, in the third quarter for a second technical foul, allowed the Thunder to gain control. Russell Westbrook registered 26 points, 14 assists and 10 rebounds, whilst Kevin Durant hit 33 points and 12 rebounds, as the Thunder won for the tenth time in the last 11 games. They remain third in the Eastern conference, behind the Golden State Warriors and San Antonio Spurs. Elsewhere, the LA Clippers beat the LA Lakers 105-93, the Dallas Mavericks overcame the Brooklyn Nets 91-79, the Minnesota Timberwolves went down 103-90 at the Utah Jazz, and the Portland Trail Blazers defeated the Charlotte Hornets 109-91.
