The Economic Security Centre of Dubai (ESCD) has launched a nationwide awareness campaign to combat economic fraud, under the slogan "Strong Economy… An Aware Society."
The campaign aims to equip individuals, businesses and institutions with the knowledge needed to detect and prevent fraud, as criminal tactics become more sophisticated through artificial intelligence, deepfake technology and online scams.
Officials say public awareness is the first line of defence in protecting the UAE’s economic achievements and maintaining global confidence in Dubai as a business hub.
The initiative supports the Dubai Government’s vision of a secure, resilient and sustainable economy.
The campaign highlights common fraud risks, including misleading advertisements, phishing emails and messages, fake investment schemes, online marketplace scams, bank card theft, cryptocurrency manipulation, and deceptive business partnerships.
Faisal bin Sulaitin, CEO of ESCD, stressed that economic fraud is a shared national responsibility, calling on society to stay informed, vigilant and united.
The Centre is encouraging the public to take part by sharing awareness tips and and personal experiences using the hashtags #StayAware and #TogetherWeProtectOurEconomy.
