Elon Musk hints at 'cool' competitor to Linkedin

Elon Musk has hinted at bringing out a professional networking platform to challenge the dominance of the Microsoft-owned job seeking portal LinkedIn.

Musk made this revelation in a response to a user of the X platform, formerly Twitter, who voiced their disdain for LinkedIn with the inquiry, "Is there anything worse than LinkedIn?"

In his response, Musk disclosed that he occasionally receives LinkedIn links for job applications. However, he expressed a preference for receiving resumes via email, saying he did not like the "cringe level" on LinkedIn.

He remarked, "the cringe level is so high that I just can’t bring myself to use it."

Musk asserted, "We will make sure that the X competitor to LinkedIn is cool," without delving into further specifics about the initiative.

Musk regularly makes ambitious proclamations that occasionally fail to materialise. Among his recent declarations was the idea of a potential cage match against his rival, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg.

Musk solidified his position within the social media landscape with the acquisition of Twitter in a transaction valued at $44 billion. The acquisition took place last October following an extensive legal dispute that unfolded over numerous months. The CEO of Tesla went through a tumultuous legal battle which ended with him securing control of the platform.
