Emirates has resumed its direct service to Edinburgh, marking the airline's first flight to the Scottish capital since 2020.

The Boeing 777 was welcomed by the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo, providing a festive start to the daily service connecting Edinburgh with Dubai.

This new route adds to the airline's existing flights to Glasgow, offering 14 weekly connections to the UK.

Emirates' Deputy President, Adnan Kazim, highlighted the airline's commitment to the UK market, noting that Scottish passengers can now easily connect to popular long-haul destinations such as Thailand, Australia, and Dubai.

The route will also help boost local industries, with the airline's cargo capacity supporting the transport of high-value famed Scottish produce.

The Chief Executive of Edinburgh Airport, Gordon Dewar, welcomed the return of Emirates, calling it a key link for both business and leisure travel, with easy connections to Dubai and beyond.

The daily service also aligns with Scotland’s growing tourism sector, with Emirates helping to attract more visitors from global markets.

The flight will carry 16 tonnes of cargo per trip, enhancing trade links and supporting Scottish businesses.
