The non-oil sector's contribution to the UAE’s GDP reached 72.3 per cent in 2021, up from 71.3 per cent in the previous year.
The hotels and restaurants sector accounted for the bulk (21.3 per cent), followed by wholesale and retail (14.1 per cent), and health and social services sectors (13.8 per cent).
The latest figures are based on data compiled by the Federal Competitiveness and Statistics Centre.
Earlier this month, it was announced that the UAE’s GDP at constant prices achieved a growth of 3.8 per cent in 2021, exceeding the 2.1 per cent growth forecasts of various international institutions.
