Registrations open for UAE's unified family business registry

WAM

The UAE's unified registry for family businesses has started accepting applications from family-owned companies.

The registry, which operates under the supervision of the Ministry of Economy, serves as a database containing all information related to family-run companies in the country.

It was launched in December last year as part of efforts to strengthen the governance of these businesses and support their continuity.

To complete the registration process, companies are required to submit an initial request to the licensing authority that issued their economic licence.

The application will be forwarded to the Ministry, which will then examine the company’s compliance with the regulations and conditions stipulated in the Family Businesses Law and related decisions.

Once the review is successfully completed, the Ministry proceeds to register the applicant in the registry.
