6 dead, 10 injured after lightning strike in China

Six people have died and ten others have been injured after a lightning strike in Jiangsu Province, eastern China.

The lightning struck Hengshanqiao Township in the Changzhou Economic Development Zone at 8:36 pm on Sunday, causing a park pavilion to collapse, trapping those sheltering from the rain. 

According to Xinhua News Agency, all sixteen victims were rushed to hospital with severe injuries. 

Despite extensive medical efforts, six people have died. The remaining ten are in stable condition.
