A curvier's beaked whale washed up dead in the Philippines, with 40 kg of plastic waste in its stomach.

Marine biologists from the D’Bone Collector Museum in Davao City said the whale was vomiting blood before it died on the shores of the Mabini Compostela Valley.

Images from the autopsy showed endless piles of plastic being extracted from the inside of the animal.

"I was not prepared for the amount of plastic. Forty kilos roughly of rice sacks, grocery bags, banana plantation bags, and general plastic bags. Sixteen rice sacks in total. It was so big, the plastic was beginning calcification," Marine biologist Darrell Blatchley told CNN Philippines.

"This whale had the most plastic we have ever seen in a whale. It's disgusting," he said in a Facebook post.
