Vietnam to quarantine 950 people returning from China

Nhac NGUYEN / AFP

As many as 950 Vietnamese, returning from China, will be isolated at two military camps outside Hanoi for at least 14 days.

It's unclear when Vietnam will evacuate its citizens, but reports suggest they will arrive at Hanoi's Noi Bai Airport and Quang Ninh's Van Don Airport.

On Tuesday, Vietnam confirmed an additional case of the coronavirus, bringing the total number of cases to nine.

Earlier, the government banned all flights to and from China and discouraged cross-border trade with China.

Meanwhile, Taiwan announced they will deny entry to all foreign nationals who had been to China during the past 14 days starting from Friday.
