Property owners in Abu Dhabi will face fines of up to AED 10,000 for putting up fences or enclosures around their properties in a manner that distorts the aesthetic appeal of the public space.
In a statement released by its official social media account, the Department of Municipalities and Transport (DMT) said first time offenders will face a fine of AED 3,000 and AED 5,000 for second violation.
Third or repeat violations will see AED 10,000 in fines.
The law is designed to align with Abu Dhabi’s urban sustainability goals.
