Abu Dhabi has set up a website to issue 'move permits' for residents during the National Sterilisation Programme.

Residents can register for permits that will enable them to step out of their homes for essential work or purposes between 8:00 pm and 6:00 am every day until April 5.

Only those who receive approvals from the authorities can leave their homes.

Its part of efforts by the UAE government to ensure the safety of the public during the disinfection drive.

People working in vital fields, including energy, communications, medical, police, army, pharmaceutical, electricity and water, airport and immigration, banking, media and construction sectors will be allowed to leave home during this period without registering on the website. They must, however, carry their Emirates ID and work ID cards with them.
