In a bid to raise legal awareness, the Abu Dhabi Judicial Department (ADJD) is making additional rulings available on its website.
The Department said the move is designed to increase transparency and enhance the emirate's competitiveness.
The total number of judgments published to date stands at 5,811.
The move follows a directive by His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Presidential Affairs and Chairman of the ADJD, supporting efforts to enhance the effectiveness of the judicial process and to establish a globally leading integrated system.
Youssef Saeed Al-Abri, Under-Secretary of the ADJD, said publishing more judgments online will help to improve Abu Dhabi's ranking in the Contract Performance Index, in addition to consolidating the emirate's and UAE's position in the World Bank's 'Doing Business' report.
First Instance rulings, as well as appeal and cassation outcomes relating to civil, commercial, real estate and labour cases, can now be published.
But it remains illegal to post judgments on cases considered "in-camera", or private, by the legislator.
