Dubai’s Supreme Committee of Crisis and Disaster Management has reiterated the importance of complying with the precautionary measures against COVID-19.
It has called on visitors to shopping malls, restaurants, commercial outlets and public areas to strictly follow the guidelines set out by the Government of Dubai and its frontline authorities.
During its latest meeting, the Supreme Committee said the emphasis on compliance is aligned with the directives of the National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Authority (NCEMA) in order to build on the progress achieved in combatting the pandemic.
It added that the the emirate’s robust response to the crisis was made possible by the efforts of thousands of frontline workers and volunteers from diverse nationalities.
“Every member of the community is a partner in fighting the crisis. We must continue working with a strong commitment to protect ourselves, our families and others around us so that we can tide over this crisis and avoid any setbacks that can compromise the progress we have achieved,” said His Highness Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Committee.
Strict action will be taken against individuals not wearing a face mask inside public facilities or failing to maintain social distance, as well as against restaurants and malls violating the rules.
Inspections will be intensified, and anyone failing to comply with the guidelines will be subject to fines.
