More than 26 million COVID-19 tests have been conducted in the UAE so far, which is among the highest in the world per capita.
The figures were revealed during the latest government media briefing on Tuesday.
Dr. Saif Al Dhaheri, spokesperson of the National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Authority (NCEMA), said the UAE has a flexible and highly agile system in dealing with the rising number of COVID-19 cases.
He highlighted how the country is adopting innovative treatment methods, enhancing the capacity of the health sector, expanding screening tests and providing medical and preventive supplies.
The official pointed out the UAE's unique model of successfully and safely balancing public health and the continuity of economic activities in key sectors.
The rate of infection to total tests conducted is one of the lowest regionally and globally, Thanks to the effectiveness of the measures taken, the application of the best and latest medical screening tests, and the high community awareness of adherence to precautionary measures.

The #UAE continues its wide screening approach & reducing the spread of the pandemic by testing big groups of society, where the total number of tests exceed 26 million. An achievement adopting a pilot model in the face of the pandemic & to mitigate its effects on society.

He also reminded everyone to continue following the precautionary measures and warned of tougher procedures against individuals and entities caught breaking the rules.
Dr. Al Dhaheri highlighted the positive public response to the UAE's vaccination drive, and reiterated the role of the vaccine in acquiring herd immunity, which will help control the spread of the virus.
Precautionary & preventive measures, the national vaccination campaign, & inforcing violations came within a thorough framework to ensure a safe environment & a step to return to normal life. We will witness more stringent procedures against violators in the coming period.

We emphasize that taking the vaccine has become a humanitarian and moral duty for all, for the health and safety of the community and in support of the national efforts to overcome this pandemic. #TogetherWeRecover
