The performance of delivery bike riders in Dubai is being monitored with the help of Artificial Intelligence.

The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has deployed a specialised vehicle equipped with AI-enabled cameras to identify those who are violating the rules.

The technology is currently being showcased at GITEX Global.

In the second quarter of this year, the RTA's field teams inspected 608 delivery bikes and reported 63 offences.

These violations were mostly linked to non-compliance with the uniform, absence of warning stickers, parking in prohibited zones and riding with a pillion passenger.

The AI-assisted operations have led to a five-fold increase in the number of daily inspections while the average inspection time has dropped from 7.5 minutes to just one minute.
