Dubai residents who wish to step out of their homes to buy essentials like food or medicine during the overnight disinfection drive will need to get approval online.
They must log on to the website launched by Dubai’s Supreme Committee of Crisis and Disaster Management to register their requests.
It’s part of efforts by the UAE authorities to ensure the safety of the public during the sterlisation drive that’ll run between 8:00 pm and 6:00 am on Friday and Saturday.
The Higher Committee of Emergency, Crisis and Disasters Management in Dubai introduces a new website to issue move permits for essential purposes during the hours of National Disinfection Programme running for three days from 8 PM to 6 AM.

Those stepping out without the online approvals are subject to legal action.
Meanwhile, those working in vital fields, including energy, communications, medical, police, army, pharmaceutical, electricity and water, airport and immigration, banking, mass media and construction sectors, will need to carry only their Emirates ID and work IDs, and will not need to register online.
How does it work?
- Register on the website using your phone number
- An OTP code via SMS will be generated
- Emirates ID, car registration, details of their purpose and destination and time of the trip need to be entered
- Once the process is completed, an SMS confirming registration will be sent
