Dubai Municipality has shut 26 salons in the emirate for violating health and safety guidelines.

According to officials, inspection campaigns were carried out during the month of Ramadan and Eid Al Fitr holiday.

The checks, which took place between April 13 and May 15, also showed that more than 96 per cent of businesses showed full compliance to the COVID-19 precautionary measures.

This comes after 692 salons, beauty parlours and spa centres across Dubai were inspected.
