Motorists in Dubai have been warned about the dangers of stopping in the yellow box at traffic light junctions. More than 2,000 drivers have been fined for stopping in the junction during the first nine months of the year. Dubai Police are running a campaign under the theme ‘Do not stop in a yellow box junction’ that aims to curb traffic jams and reduce the chances of major accidents. Motorists who enter the yellow box when the exit is not empty face a fine of AED 500.
