Dubai Police seize 269 bikes for flouting safety rules

As many as 269 bicycles and electric bikes have been seized by Dubai Police during a recent crackdown on reckless riders.

They were confiscated during a week-long inspection campaign carried out by officers from Al Raffa station in partnership with Dubai Municipality.

The initiative was launched to combat common violations like failing to wear helmets and fluorescent jackets as well as riding in restricted areas or on the wrong side of the road.

Most of the seizures were made in Al Karama area, followed by Souq Al Kabeer, Al Rolla Street and Al Mankhool areas.
