Dubai Police warn of strict action against rumours, misinformation

Dubai Police have warned that sharing rumours, false information, or any content that contradicts official announcements is strictly prohibited.

The authority also added that posting misleading content that may cause public panic or threaten safety, order, or health are illegal.

Violators could face criminal penalties, including imprisonment and fines starting at AED 200,000.

يُحظر نشر أو تداول الشائعات أو الأخبار المضللة، أو أي محتوى يخالف ما تم الإعلان عنه رسمياً، أو من شأنه إثارة الرعب أو الإضرار بالأمن أو النظام العام أو الصحة العامة.
وتترتب على ذلك عقوبات قانونية مشددة، قد تصل إلى الحبس وغرامة لا تقل عن 200,000 درهم.
