Philippines President Rodrigo Duterte will be visiting the UAE for the launch of Expo 2020 Dubai.
Abdulgani Macatoman, an official from the Department of Trade and Industry, confirmed the news while addressing the Filipino media at the launch of the countdown leading to the Expo 2020 Dubai in Makati City.
"The president is going there," he said.
The design of the Philippines pavilion will resemble that of a 'Bangkóta', which is a Tagalog word for coral reef.
Expo 2020 Dubai will run from October 20 to April 10, 2021, and is estimated to attract 25 million visits, with around 70 per cent coming from abroad.
