The UAE’s Federal Authority for Nuclear Regulation is continuing to host public forums to raise awareness about the concept of nuclear energy. Al Ain is the latest stop where residents are being introduced to the safe and peaceful use of nuclear power. The sessions have also been focusing on radioactive waste management and emergency preparedness, as well as providing information on employment opportunities within the nuclear sector. The first of four planned nuclear reactors in Abu Dhabi’s Western Region is scheduled to start operating in 2017.
