Parking will be free across most public spaces in Abu Dhabi and Sharjah during the 3-day holiday for the UAE's 49th National Day and Commemoration Day.
Both Emirates announced that public parking bays will be free to use from Tuesday, December 1, to Thursday, December 3.
The parking meters will be reactivated on Saturday, December 5.
In a statement, Abu Dhabi's Integrated Transport Centre called on drivers to comply with the regulations regarding resident parking (9:00 pm to 8:00 am) in certain areas.
Meanwhile, Sharjah City Municipality clarified that parking zones marked with blue signboards will continue to collect fees on all days from 8:00 am to 10:00 pm.
Authorities have also urged motorists to park in designated spots and not to block the traffic flow.
