A "group of young men" have been arrested in Abu Dhabi after video footage of a rape was shared on social media platforms.
It came following the orders of the UAE's Attorney General Hamad Saif Al Shamsi, who said the video showed a group of "young men raping a girl".
The accused were quickly identified by a special investigation team.
The gang is being interrogated under the direct supervision of the Attorney General.
The Attorney-General added that the incident contained "a degree of depravity that is not acceptable in UAE society", reassuring the public that authorities will stand decisively against those who violate the morals and social values of Emirati society and disturb public safety.
