H.H. Sheikh Hamdan hails top recognition for Dubai Civil Defence

Dubai Civil Defence has won international recognition for one of its programmes that deploys Artificial Intelligence to reduce fire incidents.

The Dubai entity won the Fire & Life Safety Ecosystem Influencer Award from the US-based National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), which is the world’s largest fire safety organisation

The award recognises the DCD's Environmental Preparedness Programme as the world's best initiative that deploys cutting-edge AI technologies to reduce fire incidents and protect lives and property.

His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Dubai's Crown Prince and Chairman of the Executive Council of Dubai, congratulated Dubai Civil Defence on its latest achievement.

He also congratulated Major Dr. Essa Ahmed Al Mutawa for being named as the head of global indicators for fire incidents and head of carbon emissions reduction research of the World Fire Emission Reduction Alliance.

"We are proud of our nationals’ capabilities and achievements, which continue to raise the UAE’s position as a global leader in safety and protection,” Sheikh Hamdan said on the platform X.
