Five hundred and twenty prisoners in Dubai have been pardoned ahead of Eid Al Adha.

The release was ordered by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.

The inmates of various nationalities were serving sentences in Dubai’s penal and correctional institutions.

Sheikh Mohammed's humanitarian gesture is aimed at giving them an opportunity to start a new life and reintegrate themselves into society.

Dubai Attorney General Chancellor Essam Issa Al Humaidan said that the Dubai Public Prosecution will immediately commence the legal procedures to implement Sheikh Mohammed’s directive so that the pardoned individuals can spend Eid with their families.
