In what is a first for Abu Dhabi, two American judges are set to rule over cases in the capital's courts.
Oran Whiting and Colleen O’Toole will preside over Abu Dhabi Judicial Department’s commercial court.
They were sworn in for duty last week.
The duo will work in the major chamber Commercial Court of First Instance and pass judgments on disputes with values of over AED 1 million.
The appointments were ordered by Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Presidential Affairs and chairman of the judicial department.
