The Ministry of Education and Ministry of Higher Education have announced that in-person learning will resume for all students from Monday, May 11 in the United Arab Emirates.
Examinations will also continue in person as planned under approved academic frameworks, while schools are fully prepared to shift between learning models when required, ensuring uninterrupted education delivery under all circumstances.
The announcement comes after schools, universities and nurseries across the UAE temporarily switched to remote learning from May 5 to 8 as a precautionary measure due to regional tensions and the sudden increase in emergency alerts due to missile and drone interceptions.
In a statement, the Ministry of Education confirmed the decision followed the continuous monitoring of developments and coordination with the relevant authorities, ensuring the continuity of the educational process and academic assessments.
The Ministry affirmed the commitment of educational institutions to implementing the approved safety and security protocols and procedures, supporting the smooth continuation of the educational process, while maintaining preparedness to implement alternative learning models when needed and in line with ongoing developments and continuous assessments.
The Ministry also added they will continue coordinating with educational institutions to ensure a smooth return to in-person learning, with any further updates will be announced through the relevant official channels.
The Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA) said in their own statement that the decision is in alignment with the comprehensive safety guidelines and procedures issued by the relevant authorities, ensuring a safe and supportive environment for all students.
The KHDA added that safety and quality of life for children, educational and administrative staff, and the community remains the utmost priority at all times, as well as urging everyone to source information from official channels and to avoid circulating unverified information.
